Windsurfing: Spray (eastbourne) Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: F5-6 Surf / Sea State: swell Air Temperature: warm(ish) Sea Temperature: cold Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Turned up at Pevensey to find no one there except a bunch of fishermen
blocking a two mile stretch of beach. Conditions were glorious - sunny,
cross shore, tide was a bit high meaning a boring sea state, but nice
strong wind blowing. Threw a bit of a strop for not being able to go out
and then thought to head over to Spray to see if there was any life there.
Got there to find lots of kites and three windsurfers on sails between 5.3
and 5.8. Looked great with the sun out and although the shore dump was
getting bigger by the minute (2 hours from HT), it was still launchable.
Rigged my 5.7 and had a cracking 1.5 hours in sun, fully powered up but not
overpowered. Pretty good all round. No good ramps for jumping, but large
swell for some slalom roller coaster fun. Lovely day.
